Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Skiptra platform ("Service"), operated by Apercu Group, LLC ("Apercu", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & account approval
The Service is offered to businesses and professionals with a lawful, permissible purpose for accessing skip-tracing data. New accounts are reviewed before activation, and we may decline or revoke access at our discretion.
2. Permissible purpose — non-FCRA use only
The data provided through the Service is not a consumer report, and Apercu Group, LLC is not a consumer reporting agency, as those terms are defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You represent and warrant that you have a lawful, permissible purpose under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), and all other applicable laws for every search you perform, and that you will use the data only for non-FCRA purposes. You may not use data obtained through the Service, in whole or in part, for any purpose covered by the FCRA — including determining eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or housing/tenancy, or any other FCRA-permissible purpose — or for any unlawful purpose. See our Acceptable Use Policy.
3. Prepaid funds & billing
- The Service operates on a prepaid basis. You add funds in advance, and searches draw down your balance at the per-field prices shown at the time of the search.
- Charges apply only to fields that return data. Failed lookups are not charged.
- Prepaid funds are non-transferable. Refund requests are handled per our policy and applicable law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to circumvent security, reselling access without authorization, or using the data in violation of any law.
5. Data accuracy
Skip-tracing data is aggregated from third-party sources and provided "as is." We do not guarantee accuracy or completeness and you are responsible for independently verifying results before relying on them.
6. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, present compliance or fraud risk, or as required by law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apercu Group, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
